SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY CLAIMS

Social Security PhotoSocial Security Disability laws provide for monthly benefits to workers unemployed due to sickness or an accident. In order for workers to qualify for the protection benefits, they must have been employed for a minimum amount of time and made contributions to the program. Generally speaking, workers must be able to prove that they are completely unable to perform substantial, gainful employment for at least one year. Once a person qualifies for benefits, certain other family members are also able to collect benefits as well. At Winstein, Kavensky & Cunningham, our attorneys have experience navigating the myriad of federal and state laws that govern a person’s ability to collect their benefits.
